Summary/Abstract: The perpetuation and deepening of the gap between the magnitude of natural events and insufficient human reaction inevitably lead to reaching the critical moment, catastrophic for human civilization. However, this implies a rethinking of the approach and action regarding the environmental challenges. A possible answer may be the formulation of a new theory on the relationship of man with the environment, which will make the transition from the concept of ecology, related to the middle of the XXI century, respectively the modern period, the industrial revolution, to another specific to the postmodern era.
