The role of the Teacher in Modern Adult Education

Summary/Abstract: The role of the teacher in the modern adult education is presented in its complexity and with focus on the student during the learning process. The characteristics of the teacher as a facilitator and the fundamental aspects of the facilitation are further reviewed. Special attention is paid to the role of the teacher in the education of pedagogical specialists. The teacher’s activities are discussed in relation to the characteristics of the teaching professionals as adult learners. The role of the teacher is presented as a creator of supportive learning environment.
