Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to explore the farms in Romania compared with those in Europe, using three types of farms: small (up to 5 ha), medium (between 5 and 100 ha) and large (over 100 ha). Key indicators to watch include: number of farms, the categories utilized agricultural area (UAA), the standard gross margin (SGM) and Annual Work Units (AWU). Romanian farms situation is precarious and the prospects do not look too good, taking into account the changes occurring in Romania's agriculture.
