Summary/Abstract: The modern Polish university is full of tensions, both internal and external. Trying to find an equilibrium between tradition and social expectations of change, it at the same time strives to preserve its own identity. This paper is an a empt to determine the phenomena that shape modern Polish universities. It asks about the correlation between the university, students and the job market. These reflections draw on social and academic opinions about the condition of Polish universities and the author’s own experiences. This paper also refers to some theoretical academic assumptions related to the student’s job market reality.
