Summary/Abstract: Disability is a miscellaneous and multidimensional subject, concerning various aspects of life. It may be permanent, affect significant part or whole life of the individual. It may be temporary - with appropriate therapy or specialist intervention, promising total or partial return to physical health. To define it correctly, the relationship between human health (including their sex, age and education) and the society and the environment he lives in, must be taken into consideration. A problem of disability is approached from different perspectives by numerous scientific disciplines: medicine, psycholgy, pedagogics, sociology and law. Deep analysis of their achivements helps in better understanding of this issue and diffculties disabled people face.
