Application of ICT in Nigerian Educational System for Achieving Sustainable Development

Summary/Abstract: Information communication Technology (ICT) is an indispensable part of the contemporary world. Infact, culture and society have to be adjusted to meet the challenge of knowledge age. The pervasiveness of ICT has brought about rapid technological, social, political and economic transformation, which has eventuated in a network society organized around ICT. In view of the above therefore, the paper tries to highlight on the application of ICT in Nigerian educational system for achieving sustainable development. Also, the paper discusses the concept of ICT, sustainable development as well as the computer itself and its major components. Finally, the paper concludes on the challenges of ICT in Nigeria and some possible recommendations were offered.
