Summary/Abstract: By means of a historiographic approach, this work tends to explain the influence of social circumstances in the USA during the 20th century, upon the work of Upton Sinclair. Besides, this work points out the personal profile and social commitment phenomenon of the author in the molding process of his overall literary opus.
