Summary/Abstract: The state’s dependence on the supply of natural gas from external sources requires legislative measures to be taken to protect customers from the negative effects of political and economic events affecting the state’s internal security. In the natural gas sector, ensuring energy security and preventing emerging threats is particularly important. The purpose of this article is to present the legal solutions to protect certain groups of customers in the natural gas market and minimise the negative socio-economic effects in the event of an interruption to gas supply or a sudden increase in gas prices. The introduced legal regulations emphasise the unique specificity of the natural gas market, the essential feature of which is its relationship with imports.
