NEW DIMENSIONS OF ADRIAN PĂUNESCU’S VOLUME – HISTORY OF AN INSTANT

Summary/Abstract: Analyzing Adrian Păunescu’s political poetry, one can notice two types of poetic discourse: the poetic discourse of poems published in volume and the poetic discourse of poems addressing large audience, aiming to generate collective emotion. One of Adrian Păunescu’s political volumes is History of an Instant, in which the poem Leaving the Stove and the cycle of poems dedicated to the Pașoptist revolutionary Nicolae Bălcescu would suggest the image of Nicolae Ceaușescu. Taking into account the evoked events, Adrian Păunescu shows interest and brings them back into the socio-cultural context in which he lives. The deep structure of the poems aims to project the image of the leader beyond his death and to outline a world that he misses.
