Summary/Abstract: This paper is based on Voiculescu's short stories, the stratification of the consciousness of a unitary universe, imagined with vivid and powerful icons, and on the quality of the narrated material, the steamy data of the atmosphere, the thematic diversity, the historical epoch gap. I exemplified the application of the grid of imaginary symbolism in which a conceptual angle based on two regimes is imposed, according to Gilbert Durand: one diurnal and the other nocturnal. The diurnal regime, structured on postural dominance, refers to the rituals of height and purification. The nocturnal regime, through cyclical dominance, refers to the natural symbols of the return, to the astro-biological myths. I brought into discussion the female prototype that goes beyond the edges of the commune, immerses itself in archaic depths and meanings with events beyond itself, where the tribal mentality unites with a modern intellectualism surprisingly creating the natural, bringing examples from the short stories: Shakuntala, Magic love and Lostrița.
