Girl, flower and death. About the novel »Do tmy« by Anna Bolava

Summary/Abstract: The article attempts to analyze and interpret the novel Do tmy (Into the darkness) by Anna Bolavá. The main character of the novel, Anna Bartaková, is analyzed through the prism of intertextual references to the literature of Czech Romanticism (the works of K. H. Mácha and K. J. Erben) and its symbolic meanings generated by links with the biblical context. Finally, an important part of the article is the description of the affective dimension of the main character's action and functioning, and the characterization of the particular poetics used to express this aspect. Artykuł stanowi próbę analizy i interpretacji powieści W ciemność Anny Bolavej. Postać głównej bohaterki Anny Bartakovej analizowana jest przez pryzmat intertekstualnych nawiązań do literatury czeskiego romantyzmu (twórczość K. H. Máchy i K. J. Erbena) oraz jej znaczeń symbolicznych generowanych przez związki z kontekstem biblijnym. Istotną część artykułu stanowi wreszcie opis afektywnego wy- miaru działania i funkcjonowania bohaterki oraz charakterystyka szczególnej poe- tyki, które służy do wyrażenia tego aspektu.
