Summary/Abstract: I. Negoițescu wrote poetry since he was a teenager, his vocation and passion were rewarded with the publication of his volumes of poems: „Sabasios” and „"Poems of Balduin de Tyaormin". His poetry is a creation situated between reality and oneiric realm. The reading process is a deciphering exercise of words that hide the real meaning, a metaphorical one. The two volumes are characterized by themes and motifs of several literary currents. So, Negoițescu wrote under the influence of the literature of those days, but he managed to write a unique creation.
