Summary/Abstract: Important turning points in life, especially birth, marriage and death, are called "transition period". In these periods, which are considered a threshold for both individuals and society and based on the idea of "rebirth", it is tried to be blessed by establishing a connection with the divine and to make a positive start. In these special times, Turks hold celebrations, ceremonies and rituals based on archaic ideas. Celebrations, ceremonies and rituals of the transitional periods based on the idea of "rebirth", include items and objects that symbolize this thought with their forms and materials as well as their colors. The primary color in the Turks, the white color, is always known with the meanings of being natural, pure, purified and clean, sublime and associated with the divine. For this reason, white colored items and objects are preferred in the celebrations, ceremonies and rituals of the transitional periods, especially birth, marriage and death, and these appear at the most important moments and situations. In this study, the place and significance of the color white in Turkish worldviews examined through examples from different geographies, and how and for what purpose objects and items of this color are used in rituals of the transitional period determined. In connection with the topic, examples given from relevant sections of Turkish narratives, conveying how this color is involved in transitional periods in mythology. Besides, the traces of the color will be followed on the examples from Turkish narratives and its connection with the transition periods established. The study is important in clearly stating that the idea of the transitional periods that express rebirth in Turks is identical, which is also supported through objects and items of white color used during these periods.
