ASSESSMENT OF THE ROLE OF CREDIT IN PROMOTING THE GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT AND EXPORTS IN AZERBAIJAN

Summary/Abstract: Using econometric analysis models, graphical, comparative analysis, synthesis and analysis methods, the article examines the existence of a relationship between gross domestic product, exports,crediting and the potential impact of crediting on exports. With methods used during the research, it was revealed that the development trend of the credit portfolio has a significant correlation with the gross domestic product, but this trend is not so strong with the export sector, which is formed mainly from oil and gas products. In addition, with aim of obtaining more effective results, it was planned to examine relationship between export of non-energy sector products and crediting, and during the study, it was confirmed that there is a significant relationship between credit portfolio and nonenergy products. Based on the analysis, it was even possible to predict that 30% increase in the credit portfolio will result in 80% increase in the export of non-energy products. Taking this into account, the idea that stimulating exports with diversified industrial products by attracting credit to the non-energy sector is a more promising direction for the country's economy. The presence of rich potential for agriculture and other sectors in the lands freed from occupation makes it necessary to conduct crediting in this direction.
