Summary/Abstract: Purpose - In this study, it is aimed to determine the cynical attitude perceptions of union member public officials and to determine them according to different variables. Design/methodology/approach – For the purpose of the study, scanning model was used. In the data collection tool, there are statements to measure the personal information of the participants, their union membership information and organizational cynicism. The universe of the research is public servants who are members of public servant unions in Muğla. In order to create a high sample size in the direction of the research population, purposive sample selection was used depending on the non-probability sampling method, one of the sample selection methods. Analyzes were made for the data obtained from 448 questionnaires. Findings - It was concluded that the three-dimensional factor structure of the syndical cynicism scale as cognitive, affective and behavioral is acceptable. It has been observed that there is a positive relationship between the syndical cynicism scale and its dimensions. In addition, a difference was observed in syndical cynicism according to the gender variable; however, no difference was found between the groups according to marital status, birth year, education level, having a union member in the family and duration of union. Discussion – The results of this study were compared with other studies, and it was emphasized what should be emphasized in future research.
