Summary/Abstract: Through the following lines we make available to readers some of the unique documents from the Archives of the Romanian Academy in Bucharest, showing the involvement of this institution in cultural, domestic and international activities at the end of the nineteenth century, and its solidarity with the cause of Romanians outside Romania’s borders. These documents highlight the natural connection that the Academy had with cultural institutions in the country and abroad, as well as the appreciation it enjoyed, highlighted by the preserved correspondence. The public sympathy for the Romanian Academy will increase simultaneously with the understanding of its mission, during this period when, respecting the tradition, by admirably honouring the fundamental cultural duties, the Romanian Academy proceeds to intensifying and organizing scientific and cultural efforts. The observation of the unit within the activity of the Romanian Academy will be made together with the highlighting of its role for the appreciation, judgment and recognition of the creators’ of culture role that the Academy was tasked with, bringing together those who have distinguished themselves for the highest concerns of the Romanian spirit.
