Summary/Abstract: In recent years, with the widespread use of the internet and social media in our lives, the sharing economy has started to emerge on various platforms within the tourism industry. The sharing economy, under the name of disruptive innovation, is more common in the tourism industry in the fields of accommodation and transportation. Internet and social media platforms, which deeply affect our daily lives, have begun to have an impact on our travel preferences. Smart tourism applications, especially in the tourism industry, greatly affect the residents, businesses and visitors in the region with the Airbnb application. In this study, the impact of travel behavior of Turkish tourists on Airbnb usage and intention to use were investigated. Data were collected through questionnaire via convenience and snowball sampling techniques, and total of 385 respondents’ behaviors were examined. As a result, it was revealed that young people prefer Airbnb more for their travels. Additionally, it was concluded that the participants preferred Airbnb for their long overnight stays and to interact with the local culture and to explore the features in the region.
