Summary/Abstract: This article explores how Afghan families shape migration from Afghanistan and processes of settlement and community formation in Poland using "dialogical" experience with a group of Afghan refugees evacuated from Afghanistan in August 2021. Study inspired by the works of Jacques Derrida, Martin Buber and Emmanuel Levinas. Lastly, a provisional conclusion will recap the main arguments, insisting on the potential and limits of the hostipitality paradigm for understanding social reality of refugees.
