Summary/Abstract: V. Alecsandri painted people from various times and levels of society. In this paper we will try to make some observations of a sociological nature in choosing the names in the work of Vasile Alecsandri. He reproduces the existing stratifications at the time and the relations between the social classes. Some of the names have the value of a symbol, representatives for social categories or names specialized in relation to a certain age or social stage.
