Summary/Abstract: The abrupt transition to a type of instructional process exclusively based on online means represented a major challenge for the higher education system worldwide. Quick decisions and major adaptations brought about to the content and methodological approach had to be rapidly decided upon and applied over an already operational long-established face-to-face educational framework. Both the teachers and the students tried to cope to the best of their capabilities, considering the increased stress created by the unusual circumstances of the 2020 on all plans; they continued to work and overcome difficulties of all sorts, from professional issues to personal, more emotional, ones. The paper therefore aims to present and discuss the main stages in a student feedback collecting project, carried out in the author’s educational setting - an engineering higher education institution. It should be seen as a case study, in an attempt to contribute to the joined endeavour of fellow foreign language teachers to reshape their activity.
