Summary/Abstract: Christian religious cult is the result of a historical evolution. The Christian religious cult started from the old Jewish religious ritual that was combined with the Holy Gospel. The Old Testament brings us the first evidence of how the Jews prayed and the first testimony of the establishment of a collective religious ritual. At first, the prayers were delivered orally, a phenomenon that characterized both Judaism and Christianity. The religious word began to be fixed in writing in the time of King David. Judaism reached its full form in the time of Ezra after deliverance from Babylonian captivity. The Psalms began to become an important part of individual religious cult. Jewish communities respected the Torah as a product of divine revelation. The first New Testament writings, but also the works of the Apostolic Fathers bring us the proof of the appearance of the Christian cult in the Judeo-Christian communities. Some forms of religious cult from Judaism have entered in Christianity. The early Christians began to imitate the Jewish prayers, but also the hours of the day dedicated to these prayers. In the pages of this study I present the formation of the Christian religious cult from the first Old Testament evidence to its total composition in the eleventh century.
