Summary/Abstract: As of January 1, 2022 Izbica became a town again. Literature had presented different opinions about the original granting of the town charter to Izbica. Divergent views and presentations of erroneous information about the foundation of Izbica were the result of confusing documents and town seals in the sources concerning Izbica in the Lublin province with Izbica Kujawska and the Town of Tarnogóra founded in the neighborhood of the village of Izbica in the 16th century. The text of the town foundation charter of Izbica issued by King Augustus III the Saxon at the request of Antoni Granowski, the Tarnogóra starost, in 1750, is quoted on the basis of his record entry of 1750 and the copy of 1816.
