Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issues connected with the Third Reich war graves in the occupied territories of Poland. The object of study was the war cemetery (Heldenfriedhof) established by the occupiers in the Evangelical necropolis in Lipowa St. in Lublin. The principal source base is the archival materials concerning graves contained in the archival fonds from the period of German occupation and People’s Poland. The author’s interest focused on the establishment of the war cemetery, its functioning and its fate in the postwar period.
