THE CONTRIBUTION OF HIVE PRODUCTS IN THE PROPHYLAXIS AND TREATMENT OF DISEASES

Summary/Abstract: Based on field researches, our study approaches the usage of the apicultural products from Oltenia, which have been evidencing due to their nutritious and therapeutic qualities. The introductory part is dedicated to the ethnographic information, accentuating the importance the beehive product carry, which have been used trustfully in food since immemorial times. In the investigation part, there are described, and recommended, the products obtained from the beehive (honey, royal jelly, pollen, propolis, virgin wax, bee venom, wax) as cure for treating different diseases, as it results from the field information. The qualities that the traditional remedies have, when made from beehive products, their beneficial effects on the human body, determined the local people from Oltenia to become aware of their importance in consumption, even nowadays.
