Summary/Abstract: This article is the result of many years of research on National Revival Christian churches from Southwestern Bulgaria, part of which are unknown or little known to modern science. It provides a semantic analysis of the symbols in the artistic carvings. Both the cultural-historical stratifications and the influence of folk culture on the investigated artistic images are analyzed.
