Summary/Abstract: Despite all scientific efforts to elucidate the mystery surrounding medieval builders, a complete analysis of what they represented and their cultural contribution to the West has not yet been achieved. The methods of converting the ritual text into the cultural discourse were successful by building the cathedral as a form of sacralization of the social dimension. This metamorphosis from a conceptual dimension into reality can be identified through critical discourse analysis. Language is functional within a contextualised frame, manifesting itself as social semiotics.
