Summary/Abstract: It seems that we are the witnesses and, in the same time, the actors of a major crisis determined by the inconsistency of the socio-cultural, ethical and religious anthropological landmarks. The terror of an imminent end of the history of the human species makes its desires and fantasies converge in the thematic and motivational beginning of anticipatory literature. The literary approach coexisting with the scientific one shapes hallucinatory perspectives on the Future, writing thousands of texts, articles, fictions that, undoubtedly, fascinate. The deepest fears of humanity become sources of the S.F imaginary causing a shift of millions of readers to new universes such as: the center of the Earth, the deepts of the oceans, to the stars and planets invented or not invented yet. Any aspect of the Future bursting from the Past like Athens from the Zeus head provokes reinterpretation, remitologization and rethinking of live in its defining aspects. We all long for a sustainable Future but we cannot break up with the Past. And the S.F-ists understood this.
