Summary/Abstract: The subject of this article is Mircea Zaciu's correspondence with Ion Brad, an approach that is fully in line with confessional literature as it is valuable as a literary document. Mircea Zaciu proceeds in this case as in the correspondence with Octavian Şchiau, Marian Papahagi or Aurel Sasu and creates real radiographs of his contemporary society, subject to the observations of a careful eye to the social changes over fifty years and the pressures on literature. Mircea Zaciu's letters gained an obvious documentary value, creating a new original epistolary form, as opposed to the standardized ones, containing elements of travel memorials or short book presentations, introduced in the normality of family or friendly relations. Using a high and equal literary style in all his letters, Mircea Zaciu wrote not only a simple intimate correspondence but one with an editorial purpose, to take the place of the novels that his interlocutors asked him to write.
