Processes and barriers in the development of contemporary cities with special emphasis on metropolis

Summary/Abstract: Contemporary cities encounter in their development process new barriers, which are present regardless of size, location or wealth of the city. However, in the functioning of modern metropolis we can meet new specific and more dangerous phenomenon that can lead to the degradation of urban space, in particular public space. In a lot of cities there are unusual and often controversial ways to overcome these problems, the example of which is Moscow.
