Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the evaluation of a new rehabilitation programme for people who have committed road offences. The programme is based on a variety of theoretical models and best practices, and was developed under an Erasmus+ project. The programme has 16 sessions in the core part, and is designed for people who have committed a range of road offences. The second part is designed exclusively for people who have committed road offences under the influence of alcohol, and this part consists of 8 sessions. During the pilot programme in Romania, 32 inmates completed the BriSaR Programme – 26 participants in the core part and 6 participants in the DUI part. The evaluation was carried out independently with validated instruments which, at various appropriate stages of the programme, measure dimensions such as: self-efficacy, cognitive distortions, and problem-solving skills. The results reveal an improvement in the general behaviour of participants, an improvement that encourages future approaches in reaching the next steps of the Vision Zero objective.
