The image of the intelligentsia in fiction (based on the novel by Andres Neumann “Traveller of the Century”)

Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the content of the novel by Andres Neumann “Traveller of the Century”, which repeats the collective image of the intelligence services in Germany in the first quarter of the 19 th century. A wide range of philosophical and cultural traditions of German society is shown. The skill is revealed in identifying and having the persistence of philosophers and poets. The actual problems that are discussed in the German intelligentsia at that time are called. One of them was the process of unification of the German states. The article refers to the poetic works of various authors with whom the characters of the novel work. It is concluded that the writer managed to display the sincere feelings of the main characters for each other. It is noted that the content of the work is imbued with universal values and social justice.
