Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the marine memoirs as a value element of personality leadership in the maritime sector that is hodegetically significant on the epistemological basis of personalism and the paradigm of self-development. Marine memoirs can become meaningful by giving them the status of a value guide for the professional development of a personality, for the comprehensive self-development of a future maritime leader, going beyond the narrow technological level of traditional vocational training policy. The value idea of marine memoirs is expressed in the existential professional concerns and didactic motives of experienced seafarers. They describe their experience, subtly emphasizing what they want to say to future generations of seafarers. The reader of the memoirs unconsciously turns into different characters, experiences many lives, compares, tests, seeks consolation and confirmation. Marine memoirs enrich the written culture of maritime countries. The dissemination of leadership values through memoirs in informal studies can contribute to the formation of a culture of professional awareness and distinctive meaning of personality.
