Summary/Abstract: The research focuses on the specific aspects of the confessional dispute regarding the Romanian and Serbian Orthodox Church hierarchic separation, concerning the mixed community of Saravale, in Timiş County. Following the Metropolitanate separation and other ecclesiastical issues, the subsequent actions included a local phase, meaning the separation in the mixed communities during almost half of a century. The hierarchical separation did not happened peacefully in this community, but in the court of law. The first part of this paper refers to the demographical reality in Saravale between 1869 and 1910. The second part of the study focuses on the confessional dispute regarding the Romanian and Serbian Orthodox Church hierarchic separation.
