Summary/Abstract: Although France has established relations with Afghanistan since the 1920s, these relations have not reached a significant volume in the economic dimension. The invasion of Afghanistan by the Soviet Union, the Afghan Civil War and the period of the Taliban led to interruptions in these relations and France suspended the activities of the Kabul Embassy at various times. After Operation Enduring Freedom, France acted together with the USA. However, the withdrawal of the USA from Afghanistan in August 2021 revealed the crack in Trans-Atlantic relations in Afghanistan as well. Because France didn’t like to withdraw due to immigration and security-based concerns. Despite this, he acted together with the USA during the withdrawal process. Later on, Paris made some attempts to protect and expand its economic interests. In this article, France’s Afghanistan policy is discussed.
