Summary/Abstract: Obtaining the limited resources of the world and using them in desired ways is only possible by taking the right decisions and taking proper actions according to these decisions. In global and regional politics, the production of information for different geographies and different people is one of the basic elements that make it possible to take the right decisions. For this reason, area studies, as a multidisciplinary field that supports making right decisions, is a field that all decision-making actors care about and transfer resources to. The aim of this study is to draw a conceptual framework of this multidisciplinary and multi-actor field, with its definition, history and actors, and to contribute to a holistic understanding of the scope and importance of the field, especially for students and researchers who have just started to study in area studies.
