Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the environmental and climate policies of the EU and Turkey’s compliance to these policies. With the 1960s people have come across some environmental problems. Especially in the 1970s, all countries and companies (specifically private companies) have attributed high hopes to economic growth. They have started being more wealthy and global. But they have forgotten something: all the impacts of these actions. Extreme temperature, sudden and irregular precipitations, melting glaciers etc. increased every single day. This situation led the whole world to seek solutions. On account of this reason the EU has started to adopt some radical policies. Although it has succeeded many of these commitments, these were not enough. Therefore, it has announced its climate-neutrality target by 2050 and that target has become the biggest priorities of both the EU and states individual. On the other hand Turkey also has felt same side effects of the environmental and climate changes issues. It has also determined some policies. However, it can barely say that Turkey has succeeded these targets. Turkey is one of the biggest emitters of Europe. Due to its pledges and current targets, Turkey has criticized by the EU. Given numbers show that Turkey is far from away its targets.
