Summary/Abstract: Trying to realize the ethnolinguistic profile of the concept of curse, we reconstructed in this paper the cultural image of this notion. For this, we considered the use of the curse in the sacred and in the laic space. Even if we operated with the concepts of biblical curse, high priest curse and popular curse, we pointed out that it is not easy to separate the three categories. Finally, we approached a scale of de sacralisation of the curse and nuanced the existence of an axiological mutation: the purpose of the sacred curse was punitive, of the popular one was vindictive, while the degraded or the street curse aims to denigrate the other.
