Summary/Abstract: The first part of the article addresses the historical background to, and the practical perspective of, current considerations concerning the future by highlighting the potential changes that will be brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic. The text attempts to define and expand upon selected economic and social consequences of the pandemic, including the various related arguments, considerations and histories, in connection particularly with the analysis and reflections that emerged immediately following the outbreak of the pandemic. Particular attention is devoted to the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the demographic situation, the educational sphere and the labour market. The unfolding crisis has already exerted a lasting structural impact on the global economy with, primarily, short-term financial and economic consequences. The various economic and social consequences for Poland are the same as in other countries. The most significant difference currently concerns differences in terms of regulations following the Covid-19 pandemic.
