Summary/Abstract: The essay discusses the topicality of Apocalyptic imagination in contemporary European culture. The author’s sources consist of popular science articles published in the Polish opinion-forming press (dailies and weeklies). Łukasz Sochacki attempts to justify the belief that the “end of the world” category is an ever-present matrix for comprehending reality, while the question about the end of the world has a mythological and anthropological meaning.
