For thе purpose, a non-clinical sample of Bulgarian adults (65 individuals aged 20-60 years) were examined through three self-assessment questionnaires: the Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20, the Heubeck and Neill’s Mental Health Inventory and the Yusupov’s test for empathic potential. The results showed a significant negative correlation between psychological well-being and alexithymia and between alexithymia and empathy, and a significant positive correlation between psychological well-being and empathy.
