Summary/Abstract: In this article, we analyzed the way in which the Sulina cemetery was interpreted as a place of local community memory by the poet Angela Baciu. We were mainly concerned with studying the multi-ethnic and inter-confessional characteristics of the well-known final resting place in Sulina. The value of Angela Baciu’s poems goes beyond the literary field. Moreover, those who deal with architecture, urbanism or the history of memorial sites in Sulina can usefully draw on the information brought into play by the poet. The Sulina cemetery was elevated to the status of a true place of memory for the entire community and is considered the Père-Lachaise of the small settlement from Dobrogea.
