Summary/Abstract: The monitoring and control activities of the port traffic and on the waterways on the Romanian territory appeared and developed in the Dobrogea area and on the Black Sea coast from earliest times, as a necessity for the complete safety of the trade, transport and navigation in this area. The trade and transportactivity, carried out on the Romanian coastal area of the Black Sea, also determined the appearance of auxiliary activities in transports, respectively those regarding signalling, directing and monitoring the maritime and inland navigation traffic. With the economic development the shipping activity has acquired new forms and dimensions, and implicitly, new traffic surveillance methods and services have emerged, nowadays, naval radio telecommunication services are part of the defense strategy of our country.
