Summary/Abstract: The article examines the nature and characteristics of social enterprise. It typifies the different types of social enterprises that operate in Bulgaria, concentrates on the target groups of social entrepreneurship and brings out the significant benefits for society. Attention is paid in detail to the first Bulgarian law on Enterprises of the social and solidarity economy.
