Summary/Abstract: The paper attempts to view the thought and works of Father Seraphim Rose (1934- 1982), an American convert who became one of the most notable Orthodox theologians of the late 20th c., in the light of his impact on the current condition of the Orthodox Church both in Russia and abroad, focusing on the issue of aerial toll houses (telonia), which he saw as a vital part of patristic eschatology preserved in the pre-schismatic writings of the Church Fathers.
