Summary/Abstract: This article aims at drawing the attention of the readers to the danger of nationalism and populism and their devastating consequences in a hesitating world which seems to have forgotten the greatest tragedy of humanity: the Holocaust. Dronfield’s book is not just a memoir; it is a serious historical document based on minute research, the main source of which is Gustav Kleinmann’s diary which he miraculously managed to hide all through his dismal journey into the darkness of Nazi concentration camps. At the same time this book is a warning for all of us not to make the same mistakes.
