Summary/Abstract: Eminescian poetic language confirms E. Coşeriu's conception of the fruition of poetry in the fullness of its functions, by recovering the originality of the language, thus orienting the process of establishing the poetic meaning. Until Eminescu, the descriptive function of language also dominated poetry. Signs and linguistic structures that carry meaning based on the word-object ratio (extraverbal reality) - from Ch. Morris's interpretation - are now becoming meaningful linguistic structures and structures. The poetic text builds its own referent, through the founding function of language. Besides the freedom to use any linguistic form - enriching for the poetic language - (archaic, regional, popular) created, the founding function of the language is restored.
