RELIGIOUS TOURISTIC POINTS IN THE EPARCHY OF BUZAU

Summary/Abstract: The Diocese of Buzau and Vrancea has an impressive historical past, marked by scholar hierarchs, worthy priests and monks with great devotion both for ascetic life and for serving their fellow beings. The monasteries of this eparchy are visited by pilgrims willing to feel the piece and quite of prayer as well as to see the beauty of these places of worship. The architecture of the monasteries and the church paintings that adorn them contributed to the affluence of the pilgrims, who received both spiritual piece and enrichment of their personal culture. I present, in the pages of this study, the richness of the Orthodox architecture and painting, as well as the beauty of certain monasteries which have benefited, during the last few years, of greater attention on behalf of the faithful.
