Summary/Abstract: According to many authors, values are known to influence behaviours and perceptions. For example, it was shown that the perception of a group’s entitativity varies according to values primed, their level of activation, and the target (Morchain, 2006). The aim of the present study is to test the link between the 10 values of Schwartz’s circumplex (1992) and the perception of entitativity (Campbell, 1958) of a target‑group. We assume that, contrarily to other values, the activation of self‑enhancement values and of other values linked to “liberal ideology” (Codou et al., 2011) should lead to a perception of a target as more an entity. According to the hypothesis, the activation of Power and Self‑Direction leads to a perception more entitativeof the target‑group. But the activation of Conformity leads to a perception of the target as less entitative. Results are discussed in terms of values, nature and system justification (Jost & Banaji, 1994) and in terms of liberal ideologies.
