Summary/Abstract: The SARS-CoV-2 virus has pointed out to the importance of additional education of students, teachers, expert associates and directors on the mentioned problem. The importance of advocating for the value of protection of health and prevention of contagious diseases was the main incentive to initiate this Project. The Project was initiated by Primary School Vijenac from Osijek and supported by the Croatian Association for biosafety and biosecurity, University Hospital od Infective Diseases “Dr. Fran Mihaljević” from Zagreb, the Croatian Institute for Public Heath, the Academy of Medical Sciences of Croatia, the Ministry of Science and Education and the the Education and Teacher Training Agency. The main objectives of the project are to acquaint students with the importance of expert, scientific, global and personal approach in prevention of contagious diseases; to acquaint the students with hazardous causes and their ways; to teach the students how to adopt responsible behaviors towards health; to analyze potential danger of biohazard and ways of prevention; to popularize science and research in the STEM area trough research projects conducted by students; to enhance interest for science and research; to develop team work and digital competencies; to enhance communication and presentation skills; to provide expert training for teachers, expert associates and directors. The Project is successfully implemented as an extra-curriculum activity for three years in primary and secondary schools in Croatia. The students, together with their teachers – mentors, use digital platforms to work on planned objectives that are a part of the Curriculum Biosafety and Biosecurity for primary and secondary schools. The objectives are achieved through research, learning by solving problems, practical work, analyses of data, design of posters and video clips, taking part in discussions using creative expressions, taking part in quizzes and similar. The students present their research projects which they conduct as a part of this Project at the Gathering of Students’ Projects organized by the Education and Teacher Training Agency.
