Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the activities undertaken in the years 2020–2022 by the Library of the University of Lodz as part of projects including old prints collections from the first half of the 17th century and manuscripts collections from the 15th–18th century. It presents the successive stages of projects to protect and popularize the collections, including: selection of the collection, development, conservation, digitization, popularization and promotion activities. It is an attempt to answer the question about the place and role of cultural heritage in the real and virtual library space, in the academic, local and international community.
